Visit to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)

On 04th July, the MIDE students were warmly received at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The visit to the BMZ allowed the MIDE students to learn more about the mission, structure and activities undertaken by the Federal Ministry to support developing countries. The aims of BMZ are to secure human rights, reduce world poverty and enhance developing countries’ ability to thrive alone and in cooperation with others.
Through presentations held by BMZ executives, the MIDE students got to know aspects of the budget of the Federal Ministry and its allocation among developing countries and regions. In addition, one of BMZ’s projects in Cambodia, presented by the leader of the initiative, was discussed. The objectives were to broadcast dialogues of the country´s genocide and to develop radio programs for Cambodian journalists and media students. Lastly, the presenter answered questions regarding his motivation, background and biggest challenges when undertaking the project.
